Press release – Hayle, in Cornwall, to have one of the largest Solar Farms in the UK..

mbitious plans for a 5mw solar farm, which would be one of the largest in the UK, are being put together for a site in Hayle, Cornwall.
The site, if successful, will provide green electricity to around 1000 local homes, and reduce carbon by over 1.8m kgs during it lifespan.
Barry Nutley, of Viridis Energie Consultants (acting on behalf of the land owner) said ” Whilst this is an ambitious project, conversations with the planning department have been extremely positive. We are currently in the process of managing a tender process for the installation, and expect to submit a planning application and start public consultations by the end of the year.” He added, “We aim to work very closely with both the local community, and environmental groups to ensure that the installation (which will be around 30 acres) will not adversely affect either. For example, as part of the installation, we will be seeking advice on what flora and fauna we could, perhaps, add to improve the local environment?”
