Feed in tariff payments increase

Whilst there’s a lot of discussions surrounding the FIT scheme for large scale applications. What we do know? Is that the FIT’s for <50kwp systems remain unaffected…

What many might not realise, is that come April 2011 the FIT payments actually go up in line with the RPI!

What does this mean?

Well for your average domestic system of <4kwp, the tariff payment increases from 41.3p/kwh to 43.3p/kwh, and the export tariff increases from 3p/kwh to 3.1p/kwh. An increase of 4.8%.

Therefore, for a system generating, say, 2000kwh/annum the savings increase from £856 to £897. This doesn’t include the savings on electricity made!

Full details of all the price increases can be found here http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/Sustainability/Environment/fits/Documents1/Feed-in%20Tariff%20Year%202%20tariff%20table%20adjusted%20for%20Retail%20Price%20Index.pdf
